About Scientica ltd.

Scientica ltd. implements the philosophy of spin-off companies which closely cooperate with academic institutions and universities with the aim of efficient translation of basic research into practical applications. The activities of Scientica ltd. are not territorially restricted to Slovakia. Scientica, ltd. is active in translation of scientific results, know-how and biotechnologies in Kenya and eastern Africa through a partner organization KARI.

Our aims

The main aim covering all activities of Scientica ltd. is utilization of biological and ecological scientific results for finding solutions of selected problems in medicine, agriculture, forestry and some other related field of interests.

Research objectives

In the medical field, Scientica ltd. is focused on the research of selected biomedical technologies (larval therapy, hirudotherapy and ichtyotherapy). Research in population control of agricultural, forest and veterinary pests is directed towards the development and subsequent application of sterile insect techniques, biological control by indigenous species of pests,  pathogens, parasitoids and predators.
