Biotherapeutical laboratory in Nairobi, Kenya
In 2011, Scientica ltd. built a laboratory for production of therapeutic bioagens and their research at Kenya Agriculture Research Institute (KARI) in Nairobi.
The laboratory was funded by Slovak Agency for International Cooperation – Slovakaid (project SAMRS/2010/03/06). The laboratory supplies Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi with sterile blowfly larvae which are used in treatment of non-healing wounds. Another important focus of the laboratory is the research of selected invertebrate species and their possible use for biotherapy.
